A New Era of Inclusion

Since 2023, our Women in Tech initiative at Tech Show Frankfurt has been at the forefront of driving change, celebrating diversity, and championing the voices of women in the technology sector.

Each year, this initiative brings together visionaries, trailblazers, and allies to share insights, break down barriers, and spark meaningful conversations about gender equity in tech. Beyond thought-provoking discussions, the initiative offers unique networking opportunities, empowering participants to connect, learn, and grow together.

Whether you're a seasoned professional, an emerging talent, or a dedicated ally, Women in Tech at Tech Show Frankfurt is your space to belong, thrive, and make an impact.

"Keep Showing Up, and Leave the Door Open Behind You for Others"

Our 2023 Women in Tech panel featured speakers from LinkedIn, Google, e.on and ERNI. The panel addressed the shift in mentality in the tech industry and the importance of diversity.

Women have always been underrepresented in the tech industry, but Tech Show Frankfurt is committed to promoting gender diversity and inclusion in our conference programs.

Key audience takeaways included:

- The impact of technology on business and the need for effective change management.

- Engaging non-tech communities and creating opportunities for women, girls, and non-STEM students to work in the field.

- The connection between AI and ethics and the role of technology in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.

- Managing the expectations and pressures women face in the tech industry and balancing different roles and responsibilities.

This panel discussion was a small but important step towards a more inclusive and diverse tech industry.

A special thank you to Tatjana Tasan, Livia von Mitschke Collande, Romina Pyplacz, Aida Chouchane and Miriam Kugel.

From Bytes to Brilliance - Celebrating Women's Impact in Tech

On the afternoon of Day 2 (23rd May) at Tech Show Frankfurt 2024, we held our leading Women in Tech panel, featuring speakers from ING Deutschland, MHP A Porsche Company, City Frankfurt am Main, Hessian Ministry for Digitalization and Innovation and of course the Women in Tech association itself. The panel was followed by the Women in Tech Networking drinks, open to all attendees of Tech Show Frankfurt, sponsored by ING Deutschland. Networking is key, especially in the tech sphere, so it's great to have partners like ING who push the conversation forward and support change with us.

Key audience takeaways included:

- Prof. Dr. Kristina Sinemus envisioned a future where women lead digital transformation by fostering inclusivity, flexible work models, and positive role models.
- Eileen O'Sullivan stressed the need for diverse governance, adaptable workplaces, and preparation for shifting Gen Z expectations.
- Agathe Engelmann shared her 25-year journey in tech, showcasing resilience and the impact of mindset shifts in empowering women.
- Dr. Alexandra Denise Holtschulte highlighted ethical algorithms, leadership programs, and buddy systems to inspire women's success.

To the Future and Beyond

For 2025, we would like to build on the momentum we have curated over the last two years and create a full-fledged community around this, where we host regular events and localised meet ups in order to generate more excitement in the lead up to Tech Show Frankfurt.

The need for a support network for women in tech, in Germany specifically, needs little explanation. It is evident how the gender split is heavily weighted towards men, and in the wider industry just 17% of employees are women. Our sessions and networking has been one of the most popular across both years it has run. There are many individual groups supporting women across all 4 topics of our shows, but the aim of this project is to provide a place for them all to come together and share their experiences.

"The progress we have made is remarkable, however there's still work to be done. We should highlight the importance of authenticity and defining our roles. Empowerment should be an everyday celebration, not confined to an event on #InternationalWomensDay." Noha Salama, Chapter Director, Women in Tech
