GGW/AGW glycol protector
GGW/AGW Glycol Protector – Certified Containment System for Water-Hazardous Substances
The GGW/AGW glycol protector is a high-performance containment and retention system developed for refrigeration and air conditioning systems, especially those installed outdoors. It effectively collects oils and water-glycol mixtures, preventing them from being flushed out into the environment, even under extreme weather conditions.
Certified by TÜV Rheinland, the system meets the stringent requirements of the German Water Resources Act (WHG §62g ff.) and the Plant Ordinance (AwSV). Its intelligent design includes a digital pressure sensor or conductivity sensor to detect leaks and automatically close the drain valve. In the event of power failure, cable break, or system malfunction, the safety chain triggers the valve closure to contain any escaping liquids.
Made from 1.4301 stainless steel (V2A) or AlMg³ aluminum with a material thickness of 1.5 mm, the glycol protector is built for durability and corrosion resistance. It operates reliably in temperatures from -30°C to +50°C, making it ideal for outdoor applications like cooling towers and chilled water systems.
Thanks to an integrated oil separator, the system is capable of draining the highest levels of precipitation recorded in Germany without overflow. The GGW/AGW glycol protector offers a maintenance-free design and is CE-compliant according to the Low Voltage Directive (2006/95/EC) and EMC Directive (89/336/EEC).
